Anyone Can Create Space Art :D

Welcome to SpacesBetween!

Feel free to browse our galleries, check out our wonderful collection of space art. (And don't forget to read the Group info below on this page)

If you're a fellow space artist, but aren't in the group and want to be (pstt: you want to be ;) ) don't hesitate to hit that "join" button. After that you can instantly begin submitting art to the group. We love having new members, and you are always welcome!

Even if you aren't all that space art inclined, you can always head over to our tutorial folder and start learning the tricks and techniques that many of our great artists use. Anything from how to create a planet in Photoshop, to how to make a nebula. You can find a lot of useful tutorials and how-to's.

Any of our members are encouraged to not only submit art (which will be voted on by our contributors) but to also contribute blog entries. Once accepted, you can write about whatever tickles your fancy, just so long as it has to do with space. Sometimes when you see a space art you think: That needs a good back story to go with it. Well in the blog section you can :D

Thanks for visiting our group, and have fun!

Group Info

At Spaces Between we accept any and all art to do with outer space and the cosmos alike. (Anything that does not depict space will sadly not be accepted.)

*Suggestions on space art include but aren't limited to:
Planetary bodies
Asteroid fields
Black holes
Comets and other inter stellar objects, &

All general incoming submissions should be sent to the "General Submissions" folder.
If you feel your art work is of higher quality than most of the general submissions, than please submit into the "Exceptional" folder.
The Featured folder is by no means supposed to be submitted to, that folder is reserved for art work that we feel are beyond exceptional and/or that we want to give special attention to. For the general idea, we put art into the Featured folder that we feel highlights our group's best talent :)

For the less experienced in space art, we have the Beginners and Tutorials folder! The Beginners folder accepts all art submitted to it, and you're recommended to submit something for critiquing and as a learning experience! :) The Tutorials folder contains all you could need (or want) to know about making good space art! Check it out if you're looking to improve! :D

Holidays, what can I say, I love them! It's that time of the year again. The students are now back in school, and just as the full excitement from the summer finally begins to fade away, then comes Halloween. Such the perfect time for creativity, and quite possibly the start of the creative holiday seasons.
Soon we'll be seeing an influx of Halloween, Thanks Giving, and Christmas art. With no slowing down straight into Valentines and Easter.

In my time I haven't been graced with any such "Christmas Themed" space art. But there is always a first time for everything! So:  I propose we try and set that as a this blog's purpose. To find or create, Holiday themed space art.

I suppose that could include a snowy planet that is always frozen all year long. To perhaps heart shaped asteroids that are floating aimlessly through space. Why not a giant snowball shaped comet that has been flung from one start system to a neighbouring system, just as a child might toss to their neighbour's car.

Anyway, those are just some of my thoughts for the upcoming months. I hope you all are having a great time, and also had a great summer. I know it hasn't exactly been the busiest around here lately, but that comes with tight schedules and workloads of the modulators in this group haha. You guys are doing a great job, I just want to extend a Thank you, and keep it up.

Dave / Byakuhan.

no problem.
reading just what the fellow wrote below :D My piece - The Shield -> [link] was declined too...

a group that deals with space and claims that '...At Spaces Between we accept any and all art to do with outer space and the cosmos alike...' declines space related art.... that is interesting.... I'm out of here. Better luck with moderation in the future guys.... sooo long :highfive:

[link] I'd like to pose a question here. This deviation was declined because it didn't show enough 'space' and 'cosmos'. What are your thoughts? (To the rude moderator who blocked me, don't bother replying!)

Hi, thanks for the question.
The reason your image was declined was due to the fact it seems more landscape themed, and not so much focus on space.

In your image you have a moon and stars, that's great, however you have the overall image divided into two. What I mean, is that half your image is space (although "sky" would be a more accurate term in this case) and the bottom half is landscape and clouds.

Here at Spaces Between we do not accept landscape themed images, as they are not exactly 100% space. Albeit alien planet, that is more science-fiction, and there is more than enough groups out there that will accept that.

Hello! The gallery you are featuring is stunning - would my style of art fit into what you are featuring? --> [link]

No problem if not, but I thought I would ask to double check. :) It's a little more surreal style which is different than what is being shown.

Hello there! Thank you for the compliments on the gallery, but unfortunately we don't accept that kind of surrealism art in our group. There are plenty of other groups that do though, so don't be disheartened!

Unfortunately, we have no categories for such artwork. Our apologies.

No worries, I thought I would ask anyway. :) Thank you for your consideration.
